Author’s Guide

Dear Researcher,

We are happy to introduce you about Journal of Asian Development Studies (e-ISSN 2304-375X) (p-ISSN 2788-452X) which is Peer Reviewed International Journal and Quarterly Published in March, June, September and December of every year. JADS is Indexed in JEL/Econ Lit (American Economic Association) and Included in Cabell’s Directories (Economics & Finance; Management and Psychology & Psychiatry).

The Journal’s Multi-Step Peer Review Policy: All new submissions are screened for completeness and adherence to the Guide for Authors. Those that pass are then assigned to the Editor for consideration for sending for peer review. Authors of manuscripts rejected at initial evaluation stage will normally be informed within 1 week of receipt. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious conceptual and/or methodological flaws, have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal.

Those manuscripts deemed suitable for peer review are passed to at least 2 expert referees for review. Reviewers are matched to the paper according to their expertise, and our referee database is constantly being updated. We welcome suggestions for reviewers from authors, though these recommendations may or may not be used.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate a manuscript for:

  1. Originality and significance of contribution
  2. Interest to social scientists and/or practitioners
  3. International relevance
  4. Coverage of appropriate existing literature
  5. Adequacy of methodology, analysis and interpretation

Reviewers are asked to provide anonymous comments to the author and are also given the option of providing confidential comments to the editor. The comments to the author are also made available to other reviewers of the manuscript.

Research Paper Design/Sections:

Complete research paper should address following key questions as;

  1. Title and Author (s) Institutional Affiliation
  2. Abstract: What did I do in a nutshell?
  3. Introduction: What is the problem?
  4. Literature Review: What existing literature suggested? (optional)
  5. Materials and Methods: How did I solved the problem?
  6. Results: What did I find out?
  7. Discussion: What does it mean?
  8. Conclusion: What is outcome/suggestions?
  9. References: Whose work did I refer to? (Please follow APA 6ed Style)
  10. Appendices: Literature Cited Extra Information Appendices (optional)

The Journal’s Publication Ethics Policy regarding Research Misconduct, Conflicts of Interest, and Malpractice:

To ensure objectivity and transparency in research and to ensure that accepted principles of ethical and professional conduct have been followed, authors should include information regarding sources of funding, potential conflicts of interest (financial or non-financial), informed consent if the research involved human participants. Authors should include the following statements (if applicable) in a separate section entitled “Compliance with Ethical Standards” when submitting a paper:

  1. Disclosure of potential conflicts of interest
  2. Research involving Human Participants and/or Animals
  3. Informed consent

The corresponding author should be prepared to collect documentation of compliance with ethical standards and send if requested during peer review. The Editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the above-mentioned guidelines. The author will be held responsible for false statements or failure to fulfill the above-mentioned guidelines. It is also worthwhile to share that we have “zero tolerance” for plagiarism.

The Journal’s Archiving Policy:

Journal of Asian Development Studies is aware and recognizes the valid concerns of authors, readers, librarians and others regarding the need for long-term preservation and access to scholarly research as publishing moves into the online era. Our policy addresses this question of archiving (long term preservation and access) directly and honestly.

The Journal Article Retraction/Correction Policy:

We expect authors to inform the journal’s Managing Editor of any errors they have noticed in their article once published. Corrections are made at the journal’s discretion. The correction procedure depends on the publication stage of the article.

Retractions are considered by journal editors in cases of evidence of unreliable data or findings, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and unethical research. We may consider an expression of concern notice if an article is under investigation. The retraction procedure depends on the publication stage of the article.

Fees Charged for Submitting, Reviewing, and/or Publishing with JADS:

There is no submission fee and after submission of research papers through email jads724@gmail.com we will have to start desk review by Chief Editor/Managing Editor and if found the article worthwhile then forward each article to two panel of experts in their relevant field for review process. All the review reports have been shared with the authors and they have to incorporate all the comments in final copy. After submission of final copy, author will have to pay nominal processing fee of US$100 for meeting minimum expenses. If the author is full time student then we have 10% waive off in processing fee. We can also waive off processing fee on the basis of request from authors on the strong foots. If the editors or co-editors will reject a manuscript without obtaining peer review from outside reviewers then there is no fee charged.

How the Journal is Financially Supported:

All the articles published in “Journal of Asian Development Studies” are open access and freely available online, immediately upon publication. This is made possible by an article nominal processing fee of US$100 for each accepted article. This processing fee includes provision of online availability of material for Editors, authors and readers, article production and hosting, liaison with abstracting and indexing services, and customer services. The processing fee is payable when your manuscript is editorially accepted and before publication, is charged to either you, your funder, institution or employer.

Journal’s Copyright Policy for Authors:

Journal of Asian Development Studies is an open access policy for authors and readers. All the accepted articles are immediately freely available to everyone, including those who don’t subscribe. To cover the cost of publishing, authors pay an article processing fee for each accepted article. The transfer of copyright is standard practice and it is designed to facilitate the protection from copyright abuse for authors, editors, and publishers involved in the creation of a single copyright product composed of multiple contributions. After acceptance of research paper, author will have to sign on copyright policy to ensures maximum international protection against infringement, libel or plagiarism.
